Recently President Obama announced that he would seek to raise the minimum wage for federal contractors to $10.10 an hour. This would be an increase of almost 30% over the current minimum wage of $7.25. With 28 million Americans making the minimum wage, I certainly understand the decision.

Looking at it another way, when the Federal minimum wage was instituted in 1968 it was for a $1.60 an hour or $10.74 in today's money. So, let's take a look at the people in our lives we didn't know were making less than $10 an hour.

DoGoodBuyUs is proud to be a Socially Responsible company and so are our partners. We believe that paying a fair wage is only the beginning. Fair wages enable people to make a life for themselves, raise a family and earn a living all while making something they believe in.
